Drs Lauren Galt & Alex Ritchie are two Brisbane-based physicians who grew tired and frustrated with the inefficiency and lost revenue associated with the manual collation of inpatient private practice billings. A variety of inefficient methods exist including pieces of paper, notepads, spreadsheets, collection of stickers, daily emails, notes on a phone etc. Lauren & Alex wanted to streamline this process, save time, reduce lost earnings, improve accuracy and create a succinct electronic record of our billings. “We wanted all this on the tips of our fingers. There are only two things we reliably carry on a ward round: our phone and our stethoscope. The choice was obvious!
MyRounds is a platform which has transformed our inpatient billing practice. Our administration staff are ecstatic with the simple and intuitive back-end which allows them to process all our billings. Time spent on logging consultations, procedures, and for our administration staff to process the billing has reduced by 80%.
As the App came to life, we saw an opportunity to create a platform which talks to other users; allows referrals (with a PDF paper trail), handover of patients from one physician to another, and discharge planning to be co-ordinated (Chest X-ray and breathing test with review in four weeks please)”.
